Volume Licensing Program (VLP) Overview
VLP is an easy-to-use
program that allows companies just like yours to take advantage of volume
discounts starting at only five or more users. Discounts are based on the number
of users per license as well as your industry: commercial, government, or
education. Volume discounts apply to both new and upgraded
licenses.

True Up Licensing (TUL) Program Overview
TUL allows you the
flexibility to deploy additional users over and above the number of users stated
in the original purchased license.
Who Should Take
Advantage of TUL?
Any customer who orders software in small
quantities, (perhaps the organisation has individual cost centers), and places
many separate orders should take advantage of TUL.
Advantages of TUL
TUL requires annual or bi-annual
reporting of new licenses deployed. This saves you from placing multiple small
orders throughout the year. Maintenance is required on all true up
orders.
TUL Requirements
Companies who
have a minimum install base of at least 500 users for Snagit and/ or 50 users
for Camtasia Studio should submit their forecasts to the Channel team at
resellers@techsmith.com
Licensing Options:
- Single license: You will receive one software
key and/or one boxed version for each license purchased.
- Volume license (5 or more users): You will
receive one volume software key and/or one boxed version for all users to share.
- Each license of Snagit and Camtasia Studio
includes: a User Guide, free technical support, and free minor (e.g.
Version 9.1) and maintenance (e.g. Version 9.01) releases, until a new version
number denoted by whole numbers (e.g. version 8 to version 9) is released.
- All TechSmith software is licensed per workstation.
- Each primary user may also install and use an additional copy of TechSmith
software on a portable device or home computer (not both), providing this copy
is not used concurrently with the primary copy.
FAQs:
1.What is the difference between a
multiuser and single-user license?
A single-user license includes a
key for each copy purchased. A multiuser license includes one key with
permission to install the software on multiple workstations. Multi-user licenses
for SnagIt and Camtasia Studio start at five users.
2.What does "per user" mean?
A user is defined as a
specific person or workstation.
3.Can I put the
software on a network server?
Yes. However, every computer with access
to the software must be licensed.
4.Can our
multi-user license be used in multiple geographic locations?
As long
as the software is still in use by the same organisation, then yes, the software
can be used at more than one geographical site. Each user, regardless of
location, will count toward the total number of users licensed.
5.Is technical support included?
Yes. Free
technical support is available before and after purchase of our software at
support.techsmith.com.
