Microsoft Open License is a flexible license for small to medium-sized organizations, with two to 500 or more desktop PCs, that would like to buy Microsoft software licenses outright.

Do I qualify for an Open License?
With a purchase of a minimum of five Microsoft licenses, you qualify for Open License. For example, if you have two desktop PCs, you can qualify for Open License by purchasing two licenses of Microsoft Office XP, two licenses of Project 2002, and a single license of Windows XP.

How Does It Work?
An Open License is a perpetual license (i.e. everlasting) and the whole payment is made upfront. However, with the initial order you enter into an Open License agreement which lasts two years. All this means is that you are entitled to purchase additional licenses under this agreement at the Open License discounted price.

What are the Benefits of Open License?
Open Licenses have several advantages including:
  • Save money
Open License is the cost effective alternative to buying individual boxes of Microsoft software because you receive a discount which reflects the volume purchased. The more you buy, the greater the discount. In addition to saving money, Open licenses also have the following benefits:
  • Re-order what you need, when you need it
During the term of your two-year agreement you may order software licenses in any quantity and benefit from the same discounts as with the initial order.
  • Simple administration and license management
Simply determine the number of software licenses you wish to purchase and place the order with any Microsoft reseller without forecasts or commitments
